Increasing import duty by 10% on some imported mineral resources
 

On April 25th, 2013, Minister of Finance issued Circular No. 44/2013/TT-BTC stipulating amendments to duties applicable to some mineral resources in Import – Export Tariff.

Accordingly, since June 9th, 2013, import duty imposed on 4 categories of mineral resources increases by 10% (from 30% to 40%), including: Apatite ore (excluding fine grain type less than 15 mm);  manganese ore and extracted ore (including iron-bearing manganese ore or extracted ore with manganese content exceeding 20% in dry volume), copper, lead, tin, and other titan ores (excluding ilmenite reclaimable ore, titan ash, artificial and synthetic rutile).

On white lime rock stone, import duty increases by 5% (from 25% to 30%).

The Circular comes into force from June 9th, 2013
